My Favorite Things Butterfly stamp set and dies..

I found this cute card that we made a couple Thursdays ago at Scrappingreatdeals product talk- aka Therapy Thursday. I added a few extra pieces of bling to it once I brought it home. I can never resist making things sparkle just that little bit more ;).

We played with My Favorite Things (MFT) 'Inspired by Butterflies' stamp set and the matching dies. I have a hard time resisting anything butterfly related and this one is so versatile I felt totally justified buying both lol!

The gorgeous paper on this card is from one of my new obsessions- London Market by Pink Paislee. I have seriously bought the paper in 12x12 and 3 packages of the 6x6 papers. And all the embellies in duplicate. I think this one wins for fave of the year! Sooo Yummy!

Yep- more addictions for me...not really a big surprise there hee hee!

Perfect just the way you are!

Happy Friday! For us Canadians it is gonna be a Holiday weekend as we celebrate CANADA DAY!!! I am so thankful to live in a country as great as Canada and very proud to be Canadian for 5 years now! I think this country is perfect, just the way it is!

On Thursday we made this little card with Spellbinders Edgebilities classic ric rac and a Unity Stamp and a butterfly die from Cheery Lynn, some Viva silver pearls to top it off. There are so many different edges you can make with those Spellbinders, you can mix and match, lots of fun.

The butterflies are sprayed with a pearl glimmermist, this one is from Tim Holtz but there are different ones.

Happy Canada Day! Till next time, Anja

Ranger Inkssentials Ink Refresher

Good Evening Everyone,

Sorry I am late in my posting but life got in the way.  This is the tag that we did for Wonderful Wednesday. The main product we used to do this tag was Ink Refresher from Ranger. This product rehydrates ink pads and water-base markers.

I stamped the  tag with archival ink.
Then sprayed the Ink Refresher on to  the tag.
Crumpled up the tag and then heat set it. It makes your cardstock feel like leather.
Paint the tag with Tim Holtz Bundled Sage Distress Stain .
Take finger and dabbe it into the perfect pearls and rub on to tag.
Heat set the tag.
Paint flowers with perfect pearls and water.
Tie ribbon.

Bo Bunny

Hello Stampers!

Here's a card I created for this week's Crazy 4 Challenges!  This week is a super fun sketch challenge.  I always love some inspiration to start off my card.

I've used Bo Bunny Sweet Tooth paper & stamp set - borrowed from my BFF Andrea (thank you Andrea!).  Somehow stamping supplies borrowed from a friend are much more interesting than your own, right?

I've distressed all my edges with my Tim Holtz distress tool.  And I've used some fun new fairy dust glitter (I love the little salt shaker!).

Happy Sunday!

Look what we made this past Thursday!

Andrea here to share what we made this past Thursday at Product Talk!

We played with Lord Tim of Holtz's ;) distress markers on a cute Unity stamp. We inked up the stamp using the markers then 'huffed' on it to make the ink moist before we pressed it to our paper. It makes such a cool watercolour effect!

Our sentiment was stamped on a fun ticket die cut using a die from Memory box. It cut beautifully! We distressed the ticket with Broken China distress ink and we also distressed our Bazzill antique music note paper as well. Nothing like getting all inky! We added some twine and flowers and when I got home I added the pearls. I love to add bling hee hee!

All in all it was a super fun and fast card to make using a mixture of new and older products. Come join us next week where Anja will rock your socks off with her fantastic make and take!

Happy Crafting!

More with Tim's markers...

Happy Friday! I think I have it figured out how to get my picture on bigger.......let's just say, a little birdie told me, lol!

For today's card I stamped this stamp from Stampendous with black Versafine on a white piece of cardstock, after it was dry, I sponged on Tim Holtz milled lavender distress ink. I cut it out by hand and matted it on a black Nestabilitie, Curved rectangles. Then I stamped the image again and this time I coloured straight on the cardstock with Tim Holtz markers. I used the following colours: dusty concord, peeled paint, musterd seed, tumbled glass and black soot. Then I sprayed the image lightly with water, and with a brush I blended the colours a little. After this was dry, I cut out the butterfly and with the brush tip of the dusty concord marker, I coloured the edges darker. I glued the butterfly on the image and put black stickles on it. Then I cut out 2 rolled mini roses from MFT, inked the edges with a bit of purple, rolled the roses, and sprayed them with Tim Holtz gold mist. I cut out a couple of branches from Martha Stewart, I glued 2 of those on a green pin ( Sheila has them on the counter 5 for $1), the number is 27420 (the link doesn't work yet). I also took some beads I have had forever and put one on top and one on the bottom of the pin with the gluegun (watch your fingers!!). Finally I put it all on the card and finished the card by putting the whole piece on a purple cardstock.

Hope you like it! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by, Anja

More Distress Marker Fun to Share!!

I will ask that you look at the colouring and not the card itself, (no embellishments to speak of), or the fact that the little "Whiff of Joy" boy is floating in mid air instead of sitting on something!!   It is the colouring with distress markers that I want to share.  So far I have been using the Picket Fence Marker for my blending.  Next I need to try the water brushes - I just have to remember where I put them!

I am having a lot of fun with these markers!  By the way, this is an old stamp that I used from my stash for a card for Fathers Day, so please don't go looking at the store for it (sorry!), but you know there are a TON of others to choose from!!!

Cut, fold and tuck!

Happy Friday! First of all I have to was brought to my attention that the pictures I post are small...sorry, I had no clue, if you click on them you get a better view, so I hope that helps, it can probably be changed on my computer but I don't know how.
On to the card, this is what we did yesteday for Product talk. We used the cut, fold and tuck die from Spellbinder, with My Minds Eye double sided paper. In the middle we put a small circle and a flower from the Mc Gill multiflower punch, butterflies from Martha Stewart and Memory Box. Some cream ribbon and some Viva gold pearl or stickles and voila, you have another card.
Love the elegant look and how easy it is to do this. Visit the store and find out about the great in store sale and all those items on sale to make room for CHA! Hope your day is going great, till next time, Anja

Colouring and Stamping with Distress Markers!!

So I will confess that I have had my Tim Holtz Distress Markers for some time now.  I have played with them a bit and now have finally gotten around to taking a picture of my first efforts with them! Here is a flower from a Flourishes stamp set (its a older set, called Lenten rose I believe), that I coloured in with my lovely new markers; the image was stamped using Rangers Archival Ink on Rangers specialty stamping paper.

These markers are water based and are really different from any others that I have used.  I don't think I did too badly for my first attempt though!  Not only can you colour with these markers, you can stamp as well!  Simply colour directly onto your stamp, then give a "huff" of breath on it and stamp on your paper, like so:

This technique works really well for more solid image stamps like I used above.  You can take your time colouring the stamp, all you have to do is breath on the stamp and it moistens the ink and it is ready to stamp.

Our Diva Kim is teaching a Distress Marker 101 class July 4th!  If you have these markers or are thinking about buying them, that would be a great class to take to learn the basics!!

Happy Father's Day cards

Happy Father's Day .. well almost!

Here is a card I made for my Copic cards class last week.  I love these seniors stamps - so fun.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

I stuck with a colour scheme here - was going for something kind of masculine.  The paper is from My Mind's Eye, On the Bright Side - Two.  It had some great patterns and colours for men.  I used some plain hemp cord so it wasn't too feminine.  And I roughed up edges and added some distress ink.  I used Liquid Pearls to add some detail to the paper.

I coloured these all with my Copics - and added some Copic opaque white paint for accent/ highlights - one of my new favourite things!

Here are the other two cards we made:

Happy Stamping!

Have you checked out the Sizzix Framelits  and stamps Flowers Doodles?

You can make a card very similar to this one with that set

I used this pretty denim look paper from Authentique to create the flower with the fun die!

To create the leaves, I used a scalloped oval punch and simply scrunched up the paper until I got the effect that I desired!!

Hope you're having a great weekend!

Art Journalling

Art Journalling has become a very hot topic lately.  It has been around for awhile, but lately it seems to be everywhere!  Some of the SGD divas are trying to make an effort to get together once a month for some art journalling.  We met this past Friday and here is a page I added to my journal (my journal that I started March 2011 with Donna Downey and has remained closed since!!)

An art journal - also called an inspiration journal, a life journal - is a place to try new techniques, create new designs, record thoughts, experiences - no rules, anything goes.  Get out stamps you have never used, paints that you have never opened - experiment, get messy and have fun!

On my page, I used the following supplies:

Crafters Workshop
Chicken Wire 6x6 Reverse Stencil

Ranger Dylusions
Quintessential Quotes Stamp Set

    Queen & Co.
Black & White Polka Dot Trendy Tape

 Tim Holtz for Ranger
 Nature's Moments Stamp Set

Mister Huey
Ampersand Mask

WRMK Sew Stamper
Zig Zag

Ranger Dylusions
Word Love Stamp Set

I started the page with several shades of Tim Holtz Distress Ink:

Old Paper
Bundled Sage
Pine Forest
Walnut Stain

And all the stamping was done with black Archival ink by Ranger.

I hope you like my little page and may have inspired you to start your own art journal!!!
Have a fantastic day!!

Under the birch tree

Happy Friday! I wanna say thank you to the ladies who came out to my Masculine card class this week. We had a great time as usual while making cards for the men in our lives. Let's hope they will appreciate all our hard work, lol! The dp is from MY MINDS EYE, it has the perfect paper for old barnwood and it is double sided. I stamped the birch tree on the dp with Versafine olympic green for a nice and crips image. The hat, boots and the sentiment is stamped with the same ink, the sentiment is from the set Morning on the Farm from Heartfelt Creations, the other stamps are from the Heartfelt Creations Birch tree set. The coordinating dies can be found HERE.
If you wanna stamp on patterned paper, I think you get a better result stamping with Versafine inks and even clear embossing with the same ink. It will make it stand out better.
Have a great weekend, it is raining here, but that makes a farmer happy! Till next time, Anja
