Spring Beauty

Happy Monday, everyone! What a dreary weekend we had here in Southwestern Ontario. However, it was a good weekend to do some scrapbooking. I made up this kit called "Spring Beauty" using the Heartfelt Creations Die and Stamp set called "Birds and Blooms". Sheila has brought in a lot of the Dies and Stamps from this company and I love working with them. I also bought the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit to help make the cut-outs more realistic. There are some wonderful tutorials on using these and other sets on the Heartfelt Creations site. Here are the ones that I used:

This is the kit that I am working on. I still want to add little bling. I thought this kit would be perfect to showcase your Spring Flowers.

Have a great week, everyone!

Sun Kissed Fleur Swirls

Good Morning Everyone,

Today I want to share with you one my cards for my up coming class. Keep checking the website for dates and times. I used the stamp set from Heartfelt Creations called Sun Kissed Fleur Swirls and the coordinating die, Sun Kissed Fleur.

To colour the flowers I used one of the new ink pads from Hero arts called Ombre. The colour I used was Dark Peach. Love the look of going light from dark. I inked the edges of the flowers with Tim Holtz distress ink called gathered twigs. I then used my punch bunch tool to shape the flowers. Heartfelt Creation has a great flower shaping tool. I coloured the leaves with the green Wink Stella Brush. It just gives a little shine. In the top corner I used liquid pearls called dark chocolate to make the pearls. Oh yeah, the back ground paper is from Carta Bella called Rustic Elegance.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

June Brides

I'm not sure if this holds true anymore, but June used to be one of the most popular months for weddings. I know many people who celebrate their Wedding Anniversaries in June.
I've been having fun playing with my dies lately and have a whole bunch of fun cards to share with you.  For this card, I used the following Dies:

Wedding Cake (for the trim on her dress and the Rose)
 and finally,

I loved building this pretty scene on the white embossed background! Fun~

Sheila may not have all these dies in stock, however she will be glad to order any of them for you~

I decided that I didn't want to waste the negative of the Congrats die and decided to use it in conjunction with the  Border Duo 1 die. There are so many fun things that you can do with the remnants of a die, including sponging or painting through to make a fun back ground, or just using it as a focal point on your card!

Happy Stamping,

Kids' Camp Part 2

Happy Monday, everyone! Today, I wanted to show you the second part of a craft that I will do for a Kids' Camp in July. Last week, I showed you a canvas that could be used in a Boy's Room and this week I am showing you a canvas that could be used to decorate a Girl's Room. In this class, we will be using a Tim Holtz stencil and a stamp from Tim Holtz, a Cheery Lynn Die that can be used for the child's name, some wooden butterflies and a Clear Wink of Stella pen, and we will be using some Inktense pencils to colour the skin and hair of the Prima Doll. Watch for the July Calendar to see the date for the class.
Hope you have a great week!

Scrap Yard and Mini Prills

Good Morning Everyone,

Want to share with you my card for this up coming Wonderful Wednesday. I am using Scrap Yard designer paper from Kaisercraft. I also used the stamp set that goes with this line. The gears are from Memory Box. I used Mini Prills on the card to add just a little more dimensions. These Mini Prills are just new at Scrappin'Great Deals. They are all natural, non toxic embellishments. You just use any clear adhesive to glue them to your project. They come in 36 different colours. These would be lovely in the middle of your flowers. Check out the video here.

Hope to see you this Wednesday. Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Penny Black thank you

Happy Friday! I have another fun and easy card to share with you today....really liking the new distress colour seedless preserves and here I paired it up with shabby shutters. Starting out with a piece of bristol smooth paper and those 2 colours, some water and a paper towel. Dabbing and spraying and some sponging till I liked the background. I inked up this stamp first with shabby shutters and later with forest moss and randomnly stamped across the bottom. Sentiment is from the same Penny Black set and is heat embossed with black embossing powder. The butterflies are from a Martha Stewart punch.
I mounted the background on a bigger piece of bristol and scored the frame around it with my scorpal.
Some bling from my stash and voila, another card done. Hope you like it!
                                            Till next time, Anja

So many of my smiles begin with you!!

Happy Tuesday!!!  At the Spring Retreat I got a chance to play with Kaiser Craft's great new Boy Line "SCRAP YARD"!  Love it so much!!! I layered two pieces of paper "Warehouse" over "Brick Wall", tearing a hole for the "brick" to show through.  I also used Prima's coffee ring stamp set & white embossing powder to further distress the page. The paper gears and bits came from the Collectible Cardstock Die-cuts set.  I also got to use my Tim Holtz Gear Border Punch.  It all came together so nicely! I have lots left to create some more!!  Have a great day everyone!!

Summer Camp is Coming!

Hello, everyone! At SGD, we have been thinking of some crafts that we can create for children during the summer. We don't have dates yet but watch the blog to see what we have upcoming. This craft that I created is suitable for a boy or a girl. This week I am showing you the craft that a boy might be interested in making. Next week, I will show you a version that a girl might prefer.

This is a Canvas and I used a Prima Tag and a Prima Doll. The stamp is a Tim Holtz stamp which I think is so powerful for young people. In the class, we will be using Derwent Inktense Pencils to colour the doll's hair and skin. We are also using a Tim Holtz Stencil and we will be stamping, fussy cutting and edge distressing as well. The die cut is from Cheery Lynn and can be used for the young person's name.

Take care and have a great week.

On The Go

Good Morning Everyone,

Want to share with you this coming Wonderful Wednesday Card. I got my inspiration from Penny over at  Stamps n' Smiles. You just use your cuter to get the shape of this coffee cup. Easy card with many possibilities. I embossed the base of the cup with Tim Holtz embossing folder called On The Go.  I used my crimper on the band. The stamp is from KaiserCraft, it is called Scrap Yard.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

A Tim Holtz bird crazy card!

Happy Saturday!
Andrea here with today's inspiration

I want to share a card we made on Technique Tuesday recently
it really cracks me up…..

Using the emboss resist technique with white crayon we made this fun card
We also used 2 of the birdies in Tim's stamp set- Bird Crazy
I love how stressed out the 2 birds look and picked a sentiment to match from my collection!

If you haven't come to a Technique Tuesday yet I fully recommend it!
We share lots of information and techniques to help you in your crafting
and maybe teach you something new!

Hope to see you soon!

Framed white flowers

Happy Friday! I have been playing a little bit in my craft room with this set called SPRIGS from Penny Black. Started out with a piece of watercolour paper, I stamped the flower and the sentiment with Versmark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. After this was cooled down, I used my foam blender to put on distress inks, tumbled glass on the top, fossilized amber in the middle and on the bottom shabby shutters. With a mini mister I lightly sprayed on some water, this makes the inks blend very nicely and the finer mist will take of some of the colour since I dabbed it with a piece of paper towel.
After this piece was dry, I put a little bit of stickles in the center of the flowers and I poppep up a white frame around it. My frame was cut with the Silhouette, this machine makes it so simple but you can easily cut a frame like this with a craft knife /papertrimmer (if you have good dimensions on it).
Hope you like it! Till next time, Anja

You're A Star

Good morning, everyone. I wanted to share with you a kit that I created for SGD using the Bella Blvd. Collection "Star Student". I also used this paper line in the Teacher Gift that I posted last Monday. This is a Magnetic Frame which includes a photo of your child and a notepad for the teacher. The class will be held this Saturday morning (the 13th) from 10 until noon. Please sign up by Thursday so that I can purchase enough frames.

Happy Anniversary!

Happy Friday! Sharing with you today an anniversary card, with some new Penny Black stamps! One is called Enjoy and the other one Sprigs. Hard to pick a favourite, so I had to get them both, lol.
I started out by making a background with distress inks mustard seed and frayed burlap, I just sponged them on. Very light I stamped a script stamp with archival ink after I stamped it off twice. The image of the birds was stamped with versamark and heat embossed with brown embossing powder. The sentiment and sprig on the top are stamped with memento brown. I added a layer of vellum and some Viva gold.

Good morning, everyone. Today, I wanted to share with you a Kids' Craft that I will be doing for an end-of-the-year Teacher Gift.
