June Calendar Class

Good morning, everyone! Today, I wanted to show you the June Calendar layout that we will be doing at the Komoka Community Center on Saturday, June 24th. Watch the blog for the time.

I used these Brown Oxide inks from Tim Holtz to create a pattern and then cut out a
the tree trunk die from this new set of Sizzix Thinlits by Tim. Then I created another pattern using the soft colours shown here and cut out the small flowers. The other flowers are by Prima. I love these new Thinlits "Small Tattered Florals" and can see myself using them again and again. To shape the flowers, I used the Heartfelt Flower Creation Kit. I think you will love these Oxide Inks. They blend so smoothly and have a nice soft chalky look.

The colours of the flowers on the layout are quite muted but I thought they fit in well with the colours of the Maggie Holmes papers pictured here. The stamp "This is the best" is a Teresa Collins stamp. I also added a wooden heart and a large button from my stash. For the center of the flower, I used the Wendy Vecchi "Forget Me Not" Enamel Accents. I cut the title "hello summer" on my Silhouette. I also added a Ice Cream Accent from Doodlebug (hard to see in the photo) "Fairy Tales" Collection.

Hope that you can join me on the 24th.

Glitter Kiss and Guilding Polish

Good Morning Everyone,

Want to share with you my latest card using Glitter Kiss and Guilding Polish. This is my favourite  products right now. I Love how easy they are to use.
I used Heather Metallic Guilding Polish with a Tim Holtz Stencil. I let this dry ( only takes a few minutes ), I then took an Acrylic paint from Prima called sparks and brushed over the whole card. Once that was dry I took the Silver Chrome Kiss and lightly rubbed over the top of the card. You don't need to rub very hard, just kiss the top of where you have used the stencil.  I adhere this piece to the  black card stock. I then stamped the "Happy Birthday" using the Heather Metallic Guilding Polish.
To cut out my flower I made my own designer paper by rubbing the Heather Metallic Guilding Polish all over a piece of neenah paper. Once the flower was cut out I lightly tapped the Silver Chrome Kiss over my flower and adhere to the front of the card.
I cut out the butterfly with the Penny Black die called "Graceful Wings".  I glued this down in the centre of my flower. Added some bling.

Hope you will gives these products a try.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Kim

Soft thinking of you!

Happy Friday! I had some down time in my craft room and played with the Fragrant flowers from Penny Black. The flower is heat embossed with silver embossing powder and I coloured it with diluted distress inks, peacock feathers and shabby shutters. When it was dry, I brushed on some ice blue metallic gliding polish, love this new prodcut. As I final touch, I put some silver Nuvo drops in the center of the flowers and on the card. Matted it on a piece of teal cardstock, added the sentiment in Memento teal zeal, scored some lines and finished the card.
Hope you like it! Till next time, Anja

1 - 6 x 6 Paper Pad ..... 3 Scrapbook Layouts

Good morning, everyone! Happy Victoria Day! The rainy day yesterday gave me an excuse to play in my Crop Room. I had this 6 x 6 Paper Pad from Bo Bunny and was wondering how I could use it. The first thing that I did was to separate the papers into three piles, matching up colours and prints. Then I set to work to create the following layouts. In each layout, I simply cut the 6 x 6 papers into different shapes ( 2 x 6 strips, 3 x 3 squares, and 5 x 6 squares). I wanted to show you that you can use paper pads for more than just card-making.

Bo Bunny "Life in Color" Collection

Layout 1 (3 x 3 squares)

Layout 2 (2 x 6 strips)

Layout 3 (5 x 6 pieces)

I have made up a few kits for each of the layouts. Hope that you like them.

Let your dreams take fligth!

Happy Friday! A new stamp set from Penny Black, called Fragment Flowers, comes with this beautiful sentiment and stamp! This sentiment would be great for someone graduating....
You can find the stamp set HERE.
I stamped with black versafine and coloured with Derwent Inktense pencils, put some tumbled glass from Tim Holtz around the edges, some clear wink of Stella for some bling and pale gold Nuvo drops. The purple mat has been cut with one of the edge dies from MFT.
At last, I addes some score lines along the top and bottom. It was fun and relaxing to make this card!
Don't forget that today our pop up shop is at the Komoka Community Center, we would love to see you!

Card and a Kit

Happy Monday, everyone! Today, I have two things to show you. First, I created a Father's Day card for Friday's Pop-up Shop at Komoka Community Center. Watch the blog for details and times.

For both the card and the kit, I used the papers from the Authentique line, called "Rugged". On the card, I added some enamel dots using the Enamel Accents called "Potting Soil". I used the Hero Arts Ombre Ink in browns to stamp the statement on both the card and the kit. On the inside of the card, I stamped "Happy Father's Day". For the layout, I also added a Journal Card from the Life Cards pictured above.

Note that each kit may have a different Journal Card but all embellishments will be the same.

Have a great week.

Out of the Box!

Today, I want to show you some cards that I made. I love cards but have been scrapbooking most of the time; so today, I am going "out of the box"!

On the first card, I printed a poem on Vellum, created by Joanne Fuchs. Then I cut out some butterflies using a Martha Stewart punch, added some ribbon and some Nuvo Crystal Drops called "Bubblegum Blush. On the inside (not shown), I printed "with love and sympathy" from a Scripty Sayings stamp by Lawn Fawn.

On the second card and third card, I used this stamp from Kaisercraft called "Indigo Skies". It is so versatile with the different patterns and sentiments available.

For the second card, I stamped the roses and used Tim Holtz Distress Markers and a Watercolour Pen. For the sentiment, I used a glue pen and some black fine crystals. I added some Vicki Boutin Washi Tape to the card, as well.

On the last card, I stamped the butterflies and coloured them with T.H. Distress Markers. I did some shading with a Watercolour Pen and then used Crystal Lacquer on the butterflies when they were dry. I also added some of the small flower stamp that came in the set and used more of the Nuvo Drops in the center of the flowers. I used a Darice Embossing Folder called "Multi Sized Dots" on Card 2 and 3 on the white paper in each card.

Hope you like them.

Dream

Good Morning Everyone,

Want to share with you my card that I worked on this weekend. Sharon,  who I met through SGD, sent me this card that she had pinned.  So the challenge was to figure out how to get this look.

 So here are my steps:
1. I embossed with the Classic Embossing folder from Creative Creations, using Bristol Smooth paper.
2. Paint the background with Raven Black acrylic paint from Prima.
3. Then dab with sponge some of the Dragons Eye acrylic paint, in some areas (not the whole card).
4. Sponge Distress Oxide, Vintage Photo over some of the areas and edges.
5. Take the Opal Magic acrylic paint with a sponge and dab on top of where you rubbed the Vintage Photo. When the paint hits the ink areas, it reacts and makes it look like patina.
6. To get more of the blue patina I used the Patina powder from Prima.  I just took a wet brush, picked up the powder and brushed over areas of the card.
7. I did the same process with the butterfly.
8. Painted the key with the acrylic paints.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.
